Etna Itineraries

The guide will propose some  Etna Itineraries. This  is a proposal for hikers well equipped and used to take long hikes The routes will feature various landscapes and natural elements.
The south side of the volcano is the most lunar, due to its recent eruptions, the last one in 2001-2002. The east side is the one closely facing the sea and it is a combination of lava flows and oak and birch woods, while on the north side the many lava flows together with the Ragabo forest have created a powerful and tragic landscape. Finally the west side is where Etna lava fields and woods meet the Alcantara river and the Nebrodi’s mountains…or the Sicilian Appennines.
